Zamzar is dedicated to helping you transform your songs, videos, images and documents into different formats. Our mission is:

We are intent on bringing order to your filesystem by offering you a one stop solution for all your file conversion needs. Like others we were fed up with having files in all sorts of formats, and no easy way of converting between them - the quest to find a better way led to the birth of Zamzar.
What's in a name?
The name "Zamzar" is based on a character from the Bohemian author Franz Kafka's book "The Metamorphosis". In the novel Kafka describes the extraordinary story of a young man who is transformed whilst sleeping into a gigantic insect.
The man's name - Gregor Samsa - was used as the basis for our company name because of its powerful association with change and transformation.

Zamzar is based and registered in England as a limited company (number 06463494). Our postal address is: Zamzar Ltd, The Courtyard, Shoreham Road, Steyning, West Sussex, BN44 3TN, UK. Zamzar is also registered in the UK for VAT (registration number 944606022).
